There are many causes bringing about the need for

restoration, for example, the general wear and tear of

time, accident or vandalism damage. This window,

which is used to illustrate the basic processes of a

restoration, was damaged by ice expansion pushing

out the upper wall of the East end of the Church,

necessitating the reconstruction of the wall, and the

full reconstruction of the window.
